Ann Arbor singer-songwriter Judy Banker and her band perform live and for free at the Downtown Library on Friday, May 30 at 6:30pm. The Americana band includes Judy Banker (vocals, guitar), Tony Pace (electric guitar, dobro), John Sperendi (electric and upright bass), Alan Pagliere (pedal steel), Jim Latini (drums), and David Roof (multi-instrumentalist).

Fifth Avenue Press author and Literati Bookstore bestseller Michelle Yang is at the Downtown Library on Thursday, May 29 at 6pm to discuss her memoir Phoenix Girl and talk about healing through art. Michelle emigrated to the U.S. from South Korea and moved all over the country before settling in Phoenix and working at her family's Chinese takeout restaurant at age 12. She finds love, romantic and otherwise, which allows her to heal and thrive and manage what would later become a bipolar 1 diagnosis.
